About Elizabeth King
Elizabeth King leads the Trademark Litigation and Appeals practice at Heim, Payne & Chorush with a distinguished record in trademarks and global brand protection. Ms. King provides proven experience at every level of the trademark lifecycle, from the frontlines at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark litigation.
Handling the technical complexities of trademark policy with an insider’s precision, Ms. King is widely known for taking on complex disputes, negotiating viable solutions to trademark disputes, and representing clients before federal district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
A former USPTO examiner, she has evaluated thousands of marks and developed beneficial solutions for clients by mastering the technical complexities of trademark policy.
Ms. King has established herself as a trendsetter in trademark law through her leadership and decision-making in important cases. She is a sought-after speaker and author on the latest legal developments affecting trademark holders, with a particular focus on unusual, non-traditional trademarks.
In addition to her role as the founder and former director of the first USPTO Trademark Prosecution Clinic at the University of Houston Law Center, Ms. King was elected as the first non-STEM president in the 57-year history of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association.
