Six from Heim, Payne & Chorush Earn Texas Super Lawyers, Texas Rising Stars Honors

September 14th, 2026

The publishers of the 2026 Texas Super Lawyers and Texas Rising Stars rankings are recognizing six trial attorneys from Heim, Payne & Chorush for their successful work in patent infringement trials and other intellectual property disputes.

Heim, Payne & Chorush founder Michael Heim has appeared on the Super Lawyers list for over two decades. He and fellow multi-year honorees Leslie Payne, Russell Chorush, and Eric Enger are recognized for their work in intellectual property disputes in the latest guide, with Mr. Chorush also noted for his antitrust litigation expertise.

The firm’s Blaine Larson marks his sixth consecutive year on the Texas Rising Stars list for patent cases, and Carlos Ruiz appears for the first time for antitrust lawsuits.

Heim, Payne & Chorush’s 2026 highlights include helping Texas-based Atlas Global Technologies win a federal appeals court ruling that preserved a multimillion-dollar verdict the firm won for the company in a patent infringement lawsuit against two technology companies headquartered in China. The trial victory and appellate decision fully affirmed the $37.5 million awarded to Atlas in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas after jurors found the defendants liable for infringing a series of important patents covering Wi-Fi technology.

The experienced team at Heim, Payne & Chorush was recently recognized in The Best Lawyers of America, where Mr. Heim was once again named Houston’s Lawyer of the Year for Intellectual Property disputes. The firm is also listed in the latest Chambers USA guide to the country’s top law firms, where Mr. Heim and Mr. Payne earned individual recognition.
