Heim, Payne & Chorush Home to Patent Litigation Lawyer of the Year, Multiple Honorees in 2026 Best Lawyers in America
A dozen attorneys from Heim, Payne & Chorush are highlighted in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, including firm founder Michael Heim, who once again has been named the city’s Patent Litigation Lawyer of the Year.
Fellow firm partner Alden Harris was Houston’s top lawyer for patent trials last year, and Mr. Heim also claimed the title of Houston Intellectual Property Litigation Lawyer of the Year a year earlier.
They are joined in this year’s Best Lawyers ranking by firm partners Leslie Payne, Russell Chorush, Allan Bullwinkel, Eric Enger, and Wills Collier, all of whom are noted for their expertise in intellectual property and patent infringement trials.
Heim, Payne & Chorush associates Chris Limbacher, Michael Dunbar, Carlos Ruiz, Kyle Ruvolo, and Lily Glick are ranked among the country’s top young lawyers in the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list.
The annual Best Lawyers rankings represent one of the longest-running and most trusted guides devoted to U.S. lawyers and firms. The publication relies on an in-depth selection process that includes nominations, peer-review voting, and a detailed analysis of nominees’ legal abilities.
Heim, Payne & Chorush is one of the leading firms in the U.S. for patent infringement lawsuits in district courts, inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and appeals, including cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
