HPC Spotlight – Chris Limbacher

When Chris Limbacher graduated from law school, he was already a successful software developer and engineer with more than a decade of experience in the healthcare and oil and gas industries.

Since then, Chris has become a rising star at Heim, Payne & Chorush and one of the country’s top patent litigators by leveraging his significant technology expertise and industry insights to help clients transform their intellectual property into valuable assets.

A Houston native and a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, Chris enjoys writing and playing music when he is away from the office. He and his wife are the proud parents of three children.

During the week, you can typically find Chris helping one of his many clients contest or defend patents before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, or “the PTAB.”

Since joining the firm in 2016, Chris has helped companies and inventors successfully challenge and protect valuable patents in numerous PTAB proceedings. He is recognized in the most recent PTAB Intelligence Report as one of the most active and best-performing attorneys for PTAB cases over the past five years.

Chris helped Heim, Payne & Chorush earn national Top 10 Best-Performing and Top 25 Most Active rankings in the comprehensive report from Patexia Inc., a leading provider of intellectual property research and data.

Chris is also recognized on The Best Lawyers in America’s annual Ones to Watch list of the country’s top young attorneys for the same types of patent cases he handles for clients on a daily basis.
